Jonathan the Jester Wows St Luke’s |

 St Luke’s Church of England Primary School in Bournemouth had a very special visit last week from the Ringmaster of ‘The Table Top Circus.’
This wonderful opportunity was won by St Luke’s from a competition run by The Mustard Agency at the TES convention in London last September. The competition was for a full day’s workshop held by Table Top’s Ringmaster, Jonathan the Jester.
The day comprised of a performance by Jonathan, wowing the children with his many amazing tricks and juggling. Next, he worked with individual classes, giving them the opportunity to learn how to do anything from spin plates to ride on a unicycle.
Jill Turner, Year 1 teacher at St Luke’s said:
“It was wonderful having Jonathan come in on Monday, he did very exciting workshops at both our junior and infant sites and was very well received at both. During the day he worked with both of our Reception classes and also with one of our Y2 classes. All of the children loved it and the staff who also attended were very impressed, especially as they were allowed to join in! It was lovely seeing some of the children who do not always excel academically being able to be the best at something, whether it was hula hooping or throwing and catching the diablo.
Jonathan was particularly impressed with the spirit of the school, he added;
"Working at St-Lukes was amazing. Simply being an observer in assembly was a lovely experience and when the children sang and danced the atmosphere was very different to what I'm used to. The children were enjoying themselves and the teachers led with really positive energy."
